Art Exhibitions

Art Exhibitions

There will be a large body of visual art on offer at the festival.
We will have several gallery spaces in the village including: Anitas Store; The Market House; The Snug; and Under the Oak.
There is also an exhibition entitled "Visible Reminders of Invisible Light" in Scariff Library, curated by Maurice Quillinan

[For more on this please see Visible Reminders of Invisible Light on this website.]

Award winning photographer, John Kelly, will have a very special exhibition of photographs, in Anitas Store, portraying the diverse nature of our community, entitled “1 x 1”

Keep your eyes open too for art [including the Photography Competition], and Poetry in windows around the village.

We will also, be adding to our long term street art project, with a new sculpture by artist Leanne McLoughlin, which will appear at various locations around the village, before finding its permanent home at the Harbour.

On top of that, local artist Mark Wilson is busy with a project called ‘Ploughing Ahead’. He has been working with TY students from Scariff Community College, as well as the local Mens Shed, to forge two seats, made from Horse drawn plough parts.

This project will be on-going throughout the festival, and you will be able to see them working at The Forge.

[For more on this see 'Ploughing Ahead' on this website]  .
