A Greener festival

A greener festival

In 2018, we were part of the Clare Green Festival initiative. We were chosen
with 10 other Clare based festivals to initiate this programme.
Although no longer a part of this initiative, we continue to strive to make our
festival as sustainable as possible, and hope you will support us in this.
Some ways in which you are able to support us in our cause are listed below.
If you have any further suggestions or ideas for us please do let us know.

TRANSPORT
As we all know we, more often than not, need our cars to get places. However
carpooling is a great way to decrease our carbon footprint so we would
encourage you, where possible, to organize lifts, pick ups, etc.
Who knows what new friends you could meet through this.
Should you be so lucky as to be able to cycle or indeed walk to our festival we
will provide a secure place to park your bike during the festival weekend so
you can enjoy all the festivities and not worry about the bike. Please contact
one of the committee for more information.

WATER
As part of our ‘Green Initiative’, we would encourage everyone to bring along
reusable drinks containers this weekend.

WASTE
We know we can not get rid of waste altogether, unfortunately.
However we can find ways to limit waste as much as possible. So, during the
festival we will be providing bins for your waste.
All waste will be sorted at the end of the festival, and recycled where possible.
Perhaps at certain events there may not be a bin in sight. Should this be the
case please take that wrapper or cup with you and please do not just drop in
on the side of the road.

COMMUNICATION
We hope you will share our initiative with anyone you may know attending our
festival. Get the word out so we may be able to set a great example for other
festivals now and in the future!
